Softball Recap: Flat Rock Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Flat Rock's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mercy Marlins on Saturday. The Rams' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Vanessa Neace spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Flat Rock saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashlin Woodman, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Flat Rock now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Mercy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-12.

While Flat Rock had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
