Basketball Game Preview: Barrington Eagles vs. Central Knights

The Barrington Eagles will take on the Central Knights at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Barrington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Westerly by a score of 76-68. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

Meanwhile, Central faced North Kingstown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Central strolled past North Kingstown with points to spare, taking the game 89-75. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Skippers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Barrington's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points over those games. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.

Barrington came up short against Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 77-69. Can Barrington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
