Softball Recap: Northwest Cabarrus Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Northwest Cabarrus and Central Cabarrus, and Central Cabarrus kept the tradition alive. The Trojans fell 7-4 to the Vikings on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss back in March.

Isabella Ellis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Molly Hatley, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Northwest Cabarrus' defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Central Cabarrus, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-9.

Northwest Cabarrus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Cabarrus, they will challenge East Rowan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
