Softball Recap: Florence's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Florence came into Tuesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Russellville Golden Tigers by a score of 9-5 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-3 back in March.

Mk Hawkins was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Florence's win bumped their record up to 14-23. As for Russellville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-27-1.

The future could be bright for both Florence and Russellville: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Falcons will try to hand Tharptown their fifth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Russellville will look to extend West Point's seven-game losing streak when they meet at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
