Baseball Game Preview: Warren Woods-Tower Titans vs. Lamphere Rams

For the second straight game, Warren Woods-Tower will face off against Lamphere. The Titans will square off against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Warren Woods-Tower has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Lamphere will arrive with five straight victories.

Warren Woods-Tower came up short against Lamphere on Monday, falling 16-1.

For Lamphere's part, Keegan Burton looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Burton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aidan Grzsikowski and Gavin Abbott did most of the damage at the plate: Grzsikowski got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Abbott went a perfect 1-for-1 with five RBI and two runs. Grzsikowski has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Cormick Whalen, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Lamphere was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Lamphere's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Warren Woods-Tower, their loss dropped their record down to 4-18.
