Progreso came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the IDEA Weslaco Pike Mavericks by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Red Ants, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Progreso had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-15, 25-11, 25-15.

Progreso's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for IDEA Weslaco Pike, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Progreso will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against IDEA Frontier College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for IDEA Weslaco Pike, they will be playing in front of their home fans against IDEA Robindale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
