The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for DePaul Cristo Rey in their matchups with Riverview East Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, DePaul Cristo Rey still got an impressive performance from Britain Starks, who scored ten points. Starks scored a full 31.3% of DePaul Cristo Rey's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Fairbanks, who scored six points.
DePaul Cristo Rey's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Riverview East Academy, they pushed their record up to 2-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DePaul Cristo Rey will face off against School for Creative Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverview East Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Shroder Paideia Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
