Football Recap: Cesar Chavez Takes a Loss

Cesar Chavez had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-8 to make it five. They were dealt a 63-0 defeat at the hands of the Hamilton Huskies. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Champions haven't been shut out since back in September.

Emmanuel Hernandez threw for 86 yards on ten of 19 attempts. Mason Penrod was his top target, picking up 57 receiving yards.

As for Hamilton, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. Considering they have won eight games by more than 35 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacob Brown was his usual excellent self, rushing for 124 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Jax Sculley, who threw for 165 yards and three TDs on only 15 passes.

Cesar Chavez has already played their next contest, a 21-6 win against Valley Vista on the 7th. As for Hamilton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-41 victory against Chandler on the 7th.
