Baseball Game Preview: Lakewood Tigers vs. Bear Creek Bears

Lakewood is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Bear Creek a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Lakewood Tigers will be playing at home against the Bear Creek Bears at 4:00 p.m. Lakewood has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Chatfield hit Lakewood with a four-run seventh inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers lost 12-5 to the Chargers.

Spencer Jensen and Harrison Meade did some serious damage despite the final result: Jensen went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI, while Meade went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double was Meade's first of the season.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Bear Creek and Chatfield had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bears fell 10-7 to the Chargers on Monday.

Bear Creek got a big performance out of Jamin Patterson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Matt Hegerle was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Bear Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Lakewood, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Lakewood suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Bear Creek when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
