Basketball Game Preview: Tiverton Tigers vs. Rogers Vikings

The Tiverton Tigers will face off against the Rogers Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rogers took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Tiverton, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Tiverton turned things around against Johnston on Monday. They pulled ahead with a 49-48 photo finish over the Panthers.

Brendan King was the offensive standout of the game as he posted 18 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was John Mello, who put up nine points.

Meanwhile, Rogers came up short against East Greenwich on Tuesday and fell 51-41. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Avengers: they've now lost six in a row.

Rogers' defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Tiverton, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-15-1.

Things could have been worse for Tiverton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 45-30 loss to Rogers in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Tiverton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
