Softball Recap: Calhoun Now 10-2 over Last 12 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Calhoun had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on the Pawnee Indians with a sharp 7-1 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Audrey Gilman made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 25 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Conley Klocke, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Kiera Sievers was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Calhoun has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Pawnee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season.

Calhoun didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-0 victory against Dupo on the 27th. Pawnee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
