Baseball Game Preview: Northern Nash Knights vs. Southern Nash Firebirds

The Northern Nash Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Southern Nash Firebirds at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Northern Nash is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Northern Nash turned things around against First Flight on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Nighthawks with a sharp 12-2 win.

Dominick Robbins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrew Taylor, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Nathan Bass also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Northern Nash kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Southern Nash lost 12-2 to South Stanly on Wednesday.

Southern Nash saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Faulkner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Northern Nash's record now sits at 8-10. As for Southern Nash, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

Northern Nash came up short against Southern Nash when the teams last played back in March, falling 6-2. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
