Softball Game Preview: St. Helens Lions vs. Tillamook Cheesemakers

For the second straight game, St. Helens will face off against Tillamook. The Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Cheesemakers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Helens will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

St. Helens' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Tillamook as they made off with an 8-0 victory. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

For Tillamook's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Meghan Erickson, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple was Erickson's first of the season.

St. Helens' win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Tillamook, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
