Baseball Recap: Piedmont Victorious

The Piedmont Highlanders earned a 4-1 win over the Healdsburg Greyhounds on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Highlanders.

William Ferreira looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Piedmont's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Markos Lagios, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Lagios has posted since back in April of 2024.

Piedmont's record is now 6-2. As for Healdsburg, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2.

Piedmont didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-5 win against Encinal on the 27th. As for Healdsburg, they have also already played their next game, a 15-1 loss against Analy on the 26th.
