Trinity Classical Academy dropped their record down to 18-2 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's 16-game streak of wins. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valencia Vikings. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Knights, who until this contest were averaging 1.7 runs allowed.

Luke Backes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

As for Valencia, they pushed their record up to 11-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

On Valencia's side, Noah Jaquez made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Jaquez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Valencia is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-10 otherwise. Jaquez was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jack Yamamura was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Colten Biggs was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Looking ahead, Trinity Classical Academy will face off against Desert Christian at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Classical Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Desert Christian has averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Valencia, they will challenge Maranatha at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
