Football Recap: Talawanda Piles Up the Points Against Meadowdale

The Talawanda Brave blew past the Meadowdale Lions, posting a 42-6 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Brave just coasted through the last quarter.

Oliver Bennett was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 118 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 52 yards and one TD on only six carries. Another player making a difference was Joey Beckett, who picked up 15 receiving yards and three scores.

Talawanda didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dylan Pawlaczyk and Kemper McAfee.

Talawanda has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 27 points this season. As for Meadowdale, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Talawanda is taking a road trip to take on Eaton at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. As for Meadowdale, they will look to defend their home field on the 6th against Troy Christian at 7:00 p.m.
