Football Game Preview: Landrum Cardinals vs. Blacksburg Wildcats + Official Tickets

Landrum is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will be playing at home against the Blacksburg Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Friday, Landrum took a blow against Blue Ridge, falling 63-28. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ty Foster, who threw for 162 yards and two TDs while completing 80% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Landrum's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Trey Nesbitt was another key pass catcher, picking up 60 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Blacksburg had to suffer through a 48-19 loss at the hands of Chesnee. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Blacksburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Landrum, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Landrum took their victory against Blacksburg in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 28-6 score. In that contest, the Cardinals amassed a halftime lead of 21-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
