Baseball Game Preview: Jones Trojans vs. Robstown Cottonpickers

The Jones Trojans will square off against the Robstown Cottonpickers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Jones' hitters haven't had much luck over their past three contests, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Jones didn't have quite enough to beat Ingleside and fell 3-2.

Jones saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Davyn Perez, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Jojo Martinez also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Robstown got the win against King on Friday by a conclusive 10-4. Considering the Cottonpickers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Robstown now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Jones, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11-1.
