Basketball Game Preview: Alleghany Trojans vs. Grayson County Blue Devils

Alleghany and Grayson County are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Alleghany Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Grayson County Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alleghany is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season.

Alleghany is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 72-42 win over Forbush. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Colby Crouse continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Those four steals gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lance Shatley, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 17 points.

Meanwhile, Grayson County escaped with a win on Saturday against Rural Retreat by the margin of a single free throw, 38-37.

Grayson County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Alleghany, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Alleghany didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Grayson County when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 49-45 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alleghany since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
