Volleyball Recap: Conway Takes a Loss

Conway lost against North Myrtle Beach on September 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chiefs. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 22-25, 25-13, 25-16.

Olivia Drew paced Conway's offense, picking up ten kills. Drew were helped by Kiley Townsend and Madeline Green, who contributed 14 assists each. Green was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Katlyn Powers had a dynamite game For North Myrtle Beach., getting 30 digs and three assists. Those 30 digs gave Powers a new career-high.

Conway's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for North Myrtle Beach, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-0.

Conway has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against James Island on the 26th. As for North Myrtle Beach, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Blythewood on the 26th.
