Football Game Preview: Arkoma Mustangs vs. Webbers Falls Warriors

The Arkoma Mustangs will head out to face off against the Webbers Falls Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Thursday, Arkoma was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 20-14 to Foyil. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Arkoma's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Scout Smith, who picked up 124 receiving yards and one TD, and Alex Armstrong, who rushed for 38 yards and one score. Smith has become a key player for the Mustangs: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 receiving yards, but 1-4 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Webbers Falls played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Copan, falling 44-14. The Warriors were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Webbers Falls now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Arkoma, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Arkoma was dealt a bruising 60-14 defeat at the hands of Webbers Falls in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
