Baseball Recap: Barringer Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Franklin, Barringer was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the West Orange Mountaineers. The Blue Bears haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Yadier Tapia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit.

At the plate, Barringer saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Breylin Hidalgo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Barringer's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for West Orange, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.

Coming up, Barringer will square off against Payne Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Orange, they will take on Morris Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Mountaineers surely won't give up without a fight.
