Baseball Recap: Sumner Takes a Loss

Sumner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Belle Chasse Cardinals. If the Cowboys were looking for revenge after losing 10-2 to the Cowboys when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sumner's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Belle Chasse, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sumner will head out to square off against Pearl River at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sumner is facing Pearl River at the right time seeing as Pearl River is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Belle Chasse, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals take on the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Holy Cross will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Belle Chasse surely won't give up without a fight.
