Softball Recap: Asheville Comes Up Short

Asheville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 34th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 21-3 to the McDowell Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 back in March.

Camila Wyda Wyda was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases and two runs.

Asheville's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for McDowell, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Asheville will host T.C. Roberson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for McDowell, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against North Buncombe at 5:00 p.m. The Black Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
