Preview: Southeast Pirates vs. Grand Valley Mustangs
The Southeast Pirates will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Grand Valley Mustangs at 6:45 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
Southeast suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Mogadore on the road and fell 77-47.
The losing side was boosted by Garrett Sprutte, who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds. That was a full 51.1% of Southeast's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Grand Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 44-39 to Crestwood. While losing is never fun, Grand Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 682nd, while Crestwood is ranked 227th).
Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Grand Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
