Preview: Tahoma Bears vs. Kennedy Catholic Lancers
Tahoma has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Kennedy Catholic Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Tahoma knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 games -- so hopefully Kennedy Catholic likes a good challenge.
Even though Kentwood scored an imposing 62 points on Tuesday, Tahoma still came out on top. Tahoma walked away with a 72-62 victory over Kentwood. Given Tahoma's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Kentwood is ranked 82nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tahoma's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adam Davis, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Dalton Brown, who scored 19 points.
Kennedy Catholic can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 70-49 margin over Decatur. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Kennedy Catholic has posted since December 11, 2023.
Tahoma pushed their record up to 12-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Kennedy Catholic, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Everything went Tahoma's way against Kennedy Catholic in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as Tahoma made off with a 91-67 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tahoma since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
