Softball Recap: Williamson Makes It Ten in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Williamson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They never let the Sayre Sabres get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Tuesday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

Olivia Gee was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Williamson let Kaegen Short and Savannah Dean run wild. Short went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and one RBI, while Dean went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave Dean a new career-high. Joelie Stephens also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Williamson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .581. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Williamson pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Sayre, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Williamson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-8 loss against Cowanesque Valley on the 1st. Sayre has also already played their next contest (against Galeton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
