Baseball Recap: Lone Peak Knights vs. Pleasant Grove Vikings
Lone Peak extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 11-14 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pleasant Grove Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent defeat being a 16-2 loss on Wednesday.

Landon Fry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and three runs. Lone Peak is 5-1 when Fry posts two or more runs, but 6-13 otherwise.
As for Pleasant Grove, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games.
On Pleasant Grove's side, Keaton Nordick tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. Nordick has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mason Hawk Henry was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Smith, who went 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
