Basketball Game Preview: Rhinelander Hodags vs. Northland Pines Eagles

Rhinelander and Northland Pines are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Rhinelander Hodags will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Northland Pines Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Rhinelander knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Northland Pines likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Rhinelander didn't have too much trouble with Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln as they won 63-45. Given the Hodags' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 379th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Northland Pines came up short against Wittenberg-Birnamwood on Monday and fell 69-58.

Northland Pines' defeat dropped their record down to 10-7-1. As for Rhinelander, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

Rhinelander strolled past Northland Pines when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 65-48. Does Rhinelander have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northland Pines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
