Basketball Recap: Red Wing Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Red Wing can now relate to. They fell just short of the Stewartville Tigers by a score of 52-50 on Saturday. The Wingers have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Stewartville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Audrey Shindelar led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Shindelar's big performance that evening made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jayci Rath, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards.

Red Wing's loss dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Stewartville, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Red Wing nor Stewartville have any future games scheduled.
