Basketball Recap: Redlands Takes a Loss

Redlands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost to the Citrus Valley Blackhawks at home by a 42-28 margin. The match marked the Terriers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Redlands lost, don't look at Charlie Schadwinkel. Despite the final result, he posted nine points along with five boards and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Schadwinkel a new career-high in blocks. Another player making a difference was Reid Horan, who earned five points and six rebounds.

Citrus Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carmine Amaya, who put up 14 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Aidan Todd was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Redlands' defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Citrus Valley, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-12 record.

Redlands has already played their next game (against Cajon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Citrus Valley will host Beaumont at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Amaya and Timothy Pilao.
