Volleyball Recap: Garey Triumphs

Garey took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Duarte, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Falcons on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since March 18, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Garey got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-20, 23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-11.

The win got Garey back to even at 8-8. As for Duarte, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

When Garey and Duarte next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Vikings will face off against Sierra Vista and their four-game winning streak at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Duarte will try to stop Ayala's three-game winning streak when they meet at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
