Baseball Recap: Wolfe City Takes a Loss

Wolfe City suffered their closest loss since April 17, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Cooper Bulldogs by a score of 8-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Noah Adams put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Adams was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Casen Pessel and Chris Herron stepped up to the plate in a big way. Pessel scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Herron scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Herron a new career-high.

Wolfe City's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Cooper, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

While Wolfe City had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
