Recap: Carlynton Cougars vs. Avella Eagles

There's no place like home for the Carlynton Cougars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Avella 55-35. This was payback for Carlynton, who suffered a 61-60 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryce Wright, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Westley Burchianti, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Carlynton's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Avella, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

Carlynton will head out on the road to challenge Cornell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Avella, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Union Area at 12:00 p.m. Hopefully Avella focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
