Recap: Chrisman Bears vs. Belton Pirates
After a string of four wins, the Chrisman Bears's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Belton by a score of 56-54. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Chrisman came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Belton is ranked 213th).
Belton was led to victory by Kordell Williams and Jw Johnson. Williams scored 15 points, while Johnson scored 19 points along with two steals. Williams hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Shrum, who scored eight points along with three blocks.
Chrisman's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-10. As for Belton, they pushed their record up to 8-14 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Chrisman will take on Platte County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Belton, they will head out on the road to challenge Raymore-Peculiar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Belton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
