Volleyball Recap: Saint Andrew's Comes Up Short

Saint Andrew and Pine Crest squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Saint Andrew's had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Panthers. The Scots have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Saint Andrew's offense was headlined by Luiza Queiroz and Ashlyn Cobb, who picked up 14 kills apiece. They got some help from Taylor Walsh and her 20 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Saint Andrew's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Pine Crest, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Saint Andrew's and Pine Crest are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Scots will challenge Immaculata-La Salle at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pine Crest, they will take on Calvary Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
