Recap: Buena Vista Longhorns vs. Westbrook Wildcats
The Buena Vista Longhorns and the Westbrook Wildcats squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Buena Vista Longhorns had to settle for second. Buena Vista was beaten by Westbrook 68-24. Buena Vista's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Westbrook was led to victory by Keegan Gilbreath and Grayson Jeffrey. Gilbreath rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, while Jeffrey gained 265 total yards and four touchdowns.
Buena Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Westbrook, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Buena Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westbrook is on the road again on Saturday and play against Borden County at 2:00 p.m. on November 25th. Borden County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matches -- so hopefully Westbrook likes a good challenge.
