Basketball Recap: Lamar Beats Heights for Their Third Straight Win

Lamar extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Phoenix Sneed. The Lamar Texans enjoyed a cozy 45-27 win over the Heights Bulldogs on Saturday thanks in part to Sneed, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. The match was her third in a row with at least ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Heights lost, don't look at Jazmyne Gilbert. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards. Gilbert is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 11 games she's played.

Lamar has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

Coincidentally, Lamar and Heights will both be playing Bellaire the next time they take the court. Heights will host Bellaire at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while Lamar will head out to face them at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
