Football Game Preview: Granite Bay Grizzlies vs. Oak Ridge Trojans

The Granite Bay Grizzlies will venture away from home to challenge the Oak Ridge Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Granite Bay's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Last Friday, Granite Bay earned a 31-20 victory over Jesuit. The 31-point effort marked the Grizzlies' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Isaiah Ene had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 133 yards and three touchdowns. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Darnell Turner, who rushed for 54 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Oak Ridge didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Del Oro on Friday, but they still walked away with a 12-8 win. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 96th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Granite Bay pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.0 points on average over those games. As for Oak Ridge, their record is now 3-1.

Granite Bay came up short against Oak Ridge in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, falling 30-17. Can the Grizzlies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
