Baseball Recap: Green Victorious

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Green ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Peebles Indians 7-6. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 10-0 win the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2022.

Jonathan Knapp was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Gabe Blevins was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Mason Neal was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Green's record now sits at 18-4. As for Peebles, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

The future could be bright for both Green and Peebles: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Bobcats will look to extend Fairview's three-game losing streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Peebles will try to hand Western their sixth-straight defeat when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
