Baseball Game Preview: Ben Lomond Scots vs. Grantsville Cowboys

For the second straight game, Ben Lomond will face off against Grantsville. The Scots will host the Cowboys at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ben Lomond is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Ben Lomond fell victim to Grantsville and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cowboys, falling 13-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Grantsville's part, Krue Warren made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Warren has become a key player for Grantsville: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 3-6 otherwise. Warren was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Cooper Castagno was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also brought in three RBI, which is notable because Grantsville is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 2-7 otherwise. Patton Rose was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Grantsville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Ben Lomond's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Grantsville, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
