Basketball Recap: Battery Creek Takes a Loss

Battery Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They fell 37-29 to the Hanahan Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 32-17 back in January.

Hanahan found their leader in sophomore Bri Johnsen, who posted 14 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Johnsen has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last three times she's played. Ellie Tyson was another key player, putting up ten points.

Battery Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Hanahan, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

Battery Creek has already played their next game, a 45-30 win against North Charleston on the 5th. As for Hanahan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 38-26 loss against Oceanside Collegiate Academy on the 7th.
