Baseball Recap: Sacopee Valley's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Sacopee Valley nor Buckfield made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Hawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bucks a 2-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on five straight.

The result came thanks to Chase Parker's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Sacopee Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braiden Croteau, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. That's the most hits Croteau has posted since back in April of 2024.

Sacopee Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Buckfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sacopee Valley will take on Oak Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Buckfield, they will face off against Telstar at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
