Basketball Game Preview: William Monroe Dragons vs. Broadway Gobblers

The William Monroe Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the Broadway Gobblers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (William Monroe has three straight victories, Broadway has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Saturday, William Monroe beat Fluvanna County 43-34. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Flying Flucos are ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Broadway ended up a good deal behind Cave Spring on Saturday and lost 70-52.

Broadway's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for William Monroe, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

William Monroe couldn't quite finish off Broadway in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 34-31. Can William Monroe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
