Softball Recap: Central Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Central entered their tilt with Corvallis on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Spartans. Considering the Panthers have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Central's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Corvallis, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Central is set to challenge their familiar foe West Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Corvallis will take on rival McKay at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
