Volleyball Recap: Everton Victorious

Everton not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 24, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on the Southwest Trojans with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Everton never let Southwest on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-16, 25-23.

When it comes to explaining why Southwest lost, don't look at Olivia Hnem. Despite the final result, she had 16 digs and two aces. Hnem is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Outhouse, who had ten digs and five assists.

Everton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3-1. As for Southwest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7-1 record this season.
