Basketball Recap: Donahue Catholic Drops Season-High Score on Mason Classical Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Donahue Catholic). They blew past the Mason Classical Academy Paladins 86-33 on Thursday. The Shamrocks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

Donahue Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jack Kadlec, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points in addition to six assists and six boards. That's the most points Kadlec has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Loboda, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 17 points and four steals.

Kadlec wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Donahue Catholic was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Donahue Catholic pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points per game. As for Mason Classical Academy, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Donahue Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Southwest Florida Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwest Florida Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Donahue Catholic likes a good challenge. As for Mason Classical Academy, they will take on Babcock at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
