Basketball Recap: Orme Warriors vs. Verde Valley Coyotes
The Orme Warriors lost to the Verde Valley Coyotes back in January, but the Orme Warriors didn't allow the Verde Valley Coyotes the same satisfaction on Thursday. Orme skirted past the Coyotes 43-41.
Orme was led to victory by Preston Tisi and Bartek Kreglewski. Tisi scored 13 points along with four steals, while Kreglewski scored 18 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Kreglewski hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games.
Despite the loss, Verde Valley had strong showings from Angelo Ayuel, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds, and Teo Dickey, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ayuel has scored all season. Theo Prestwich-Ruddick was another key contributor, scoring no points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Orme is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Verde Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Orme's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on February 7th. As for Verde Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Paradise Valley Christian Prep has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11.
