Volleyball Recap: West Central Comes Up Short

West Central lost against Knox last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Trojans fell just short of the Redskins by a score of 3-2. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While West Central ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 12 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 15-12.

Alana Kasten paced West Central's offense, picking up 19 kills. Kasten got some help from Kyra Leman and her 33 assists. Finally, Kasten was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Knox was led to victory by Addison Sponaugle and Da'Miya Sherrod. Sponaugle had 29 digs and one assist, while Sherrod had 18 digs and two assists. Sponaugle has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

West Central now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Knox, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

West Central has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against South Newton on the 26th. As for Knox, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Morgan Township on the 26th.
