Carson extends road losing streak to 13

Recap: Carson Cougars vs. Concord Spiders

The Carson Cougars suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Concord on the road and fell 57-29. Carson found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post ten fewer assists than your opponent.

Carson's loss came despite strong showings from Rylee Hedrick and Laila Furr. Hedrick scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Furr scored seven points along with six rebounds and five steals. Hedrick has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Kaylin Williams had an outrageously good game for Concord as she dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Myajah Nix, who scored eight points along with eight steals and seven assists.

Carson's loss was their 13th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-14. As for Concord, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carson will take on Robinson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Robinson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Carson in North Carolina (Robinson is ranked 56th, while Carson is ranked 553rd). As for Concord, they will head out on the road to square off against Northwest Cabarrus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
